The LAN Computer Browser is a quick lan scanner, who can show you what computers are on the LAN and what functions they have. Who is working as a Workstation, what comptuers are Servers and if there is any registered Print Servers, or computers who share printers out. This nifty tool will even tell you what computers have an SQL server running.

Good for the system administrator who minotor a small company LAN, or a home network and need to get an instant overview of what is running on the network today.

The free LAN Computer Browser have recently been updated to include Windows 7, Windows 2008 servers and more.

The free version is the non threaded version, so on lans with more than 100 computers and servers, then it will be a little slow. If you need something to scan a larger network. The go for the commercial version instead, who have more functions build in.
